Happy to present lavender cupcakes today. It has been way too long that I presented cupcakes. During these one and a half years I have only shown you guys three recipes, that’s crazy, three only! And since lavender has been on my bucket list forever, I decided to give it a shot this time. Lavender either in a cake or in a cupcake, that was my idea. So I used a basic vanilla cupcake recipe and added some lavender to it. Replaced some of the sugar with honey and added blueberries to the buttercream. May I present to you a summer symphony of lavender, honey, vanilla, and blueberries?
Guys, I feel like celebrating with this cookie monster cake! Some of you may have seen it on Facebook that I had a bike accident a while ago. Not to bore you with the details, but I was in the hospital for almost a week and on sick-leave for four more weeks afterwards. So I had to stay in bed a lot and I felt like comfort food. As a proclaimed cookie monster it was quickly decided that it was going to be a skillet cookie. I mean, if you don’t make the cookie monster on top, you don’t even have to form the cookie, you just pat everything into a skillet.
You don’t HAVE to make the cookie monster, but isn’t it just so adorable? Continue Reading…
Strawberry pancakes with strawberry sauce! I wanted to start my blog event with the strong color RED and with my favorite meal of the day: BREAKFAST! In fact, I have made this recipe for Saturday breakfast so many times already, I don’t know why I haven’t posted it yet. It is so good, the key words are light, airy, fluffy, and with a strong strawberry flavor, batter as well as sauce. Because, of course, I also added strawberries to the pancake batter, not only the strawberry sauce, which is full of pureed strawberries, some lemon and a bit of sugar.
As stated, I am organizing the blog event “Colorful Food!” If you wish to learn more about it, check details here. Basically I invite you to create a dish in one color of the rainbow. I created today’s dish in RED.
Cookies are my weakness. Every time I pass a bakery, I have to quickly check whether there are any cookies on display. Peanut butter and chocolate chunk cookies are one of my favorites. Especially if combined with caramel and sea salt. So I decided to create my own version of this coffee shop classic!
If you use my recipe, you will get about 12 cookies. They are large. Bakery-style. Obviously you can make them smaller, but be sure to check baking time if you do. And believe me, one cookie will satisfy your cravings. They are so thick and full of chocolate and caramel, you won’t regret having made them. Continue Reading…
Apparently I am into lemon flavor. This is not the first lemon recipe I have posted here. If you love anything with lemon, be sure to check out the recipes at the end of this post, it includes double lemon cupcakes, pavlova with lemon curd, the classic lemon tartelette from France and other treats. Well, maybe I should clarify, I love lemon flavor, but my husband is obsessed with it. So that’s why I decided to go with yet another lemon recipe: Lemon Meringue Pie!
Friends, it is time for a special chocolate chip cookie! One with brown butter and sea salt, because I am into that. Maybe I am lame, but I don’t care, I am in love with chocolate chip cookies. In case you didn’t know, I looked high and low before finally settling on this recipe for the traditional chocolate chip cookie. Believe me, I tried more than 20 recipes, I asked everybody and I made many, many batches. My husband got desperate after eating all those cookies and asked me to stop. But I couldn’t, I had to find the perfect recipe. Which I finally found, thank God.
In case you didn’t know, I am a cookie monster. And I promised to post more cookies on this blog. So here goes: Monster Cookies!
If you are looking for the perfect pie for Thanksgiving, this is for you. This is the perfect winter/fall pie with lots of juicy apples, fresh cranberries, and a hint of almond. Let me introduce Apple Cranberry Almond Pie to you!
It is time for cookies! How about peanut butter & M&Ms? Perfect combination for me. Some color as a bonus. Remember, I live in the north of Germany, I need some color. So let’s have a look at these little beauties. They are soft, they basically melt in your mouth. If you love peanut butter, they are for you. Because, just in case super soft cookies are not enough, throw in some chocolate. Because peanut butter and chocolate are very hard to beat as the perfect combination. Do I need to say more?
I feel it is time for some chocolate. Maybe it’s because I didn’t eat chocolate for three weeks. I wanted to look pretty for my birthday. So I restricted myself to eating relatively healthy, no sweets and no chocolate. That was really hard for me. Three weeks without chocolate? As a chocoholic I am proud to say that I managed. I was allowed to drink one small cup of cocoa per day, but that was about it. I know that a lot of people say they don’t crave chocolate in summer. I am definitely not one of them. I can have chocolate day in and day out. Summer or winter. If there is chocolate, you will find Jenny around.
