Today I am presenting to you the very best homemade croissants with a step-by-step guide with lots of pictures. Preparation is done over the course of three days and most of the rising times happen during the night. I also give options to either prepare in two days or four days. I did post another croissant recipe about a year ago. But I have learned. When I asked you on Facebook, you indicated you wanted another recipe. So I tried and improved. Until I was happy. So please give the floor to a new and improved croissant recipe, which can be prepared in little chunks in three days!

Guys, I feel like celebrating with this cookie monster cake! Some of you may have seen it on Facebook that I had a bike accident a while ago. Not to bore you with the details, but I was in the hospital for almost a week and on sick-leave for four more weeks afterwards. So I had to stay in bed a lot and I felt like comfort food. As a proclaimed cookie monster it was quickly decided that it was going to be a skillet cookie. I mean, if you don’t make the cookie monster on top, you don’t even have to form the cookie, you just pat everything into a skillet.
You don’t HAVE to make the cookie monster, but isn’t it just so adorable? Continue Reading…
Nothing tastes better on a hot day than a refreshing lemon soufflé. If you want to get all fancy like me, you can also serve the soufflé inside a lemon. It gives this dish its extra tangy flavor and will definitely be a crowd-stopper.
I created this dish originally for my blog event “Colorful Food”. I basically invite you to bake/cook a dish in one rainbow color, either red, pink, orange, yellow, blue, purple or green. For further details please check here. Today obviously the color is YELLOW!
So far we had
Cookies are my weakness. Every time I pass a bakery, I have to quickly check whether there are any cookies on display. Peanut butter and chocolate chunk cookies are one of my favorites. Especially if combined with caramel and sea salt. So I decided to create my own version of this coffee shop classic!
If you use my recipe, you will get about 12 cookies. They are large. Bakery-style. Obviously you can make them smaller, but be sure to check baking time if you do. And believe me, one cookie will satisfy your cravings. They are so thick and full of chocolate and caramel, you won’t regret having made them. Continue Reading…
Apparently I am into lemon flavor. This is not the first lemon recipe I have posted here. If you love anything with lemon, be sure to check out the recipes at the end of this post, it includes double lemon cupcakes, pavlova with lemon curd, the classic lemon tartelette from France and other treats. Well, maybe I should clarify, I love lemon flavor, but my husband is obsessed with it. So that’s why I decided to go with yet another lemon recipe: Lemon Meringue Pie!
Friends, it is time for a special chocolate chip cookie! One with brown butter and sea salt, because I am into that. Maybe I am lame, but I don’t care, I am in love with chocolate chip cookies. In case you didn’t know, I looked high and low before finally settling on this recipe for the traditional chocolate chip cookie. Believe me, I tried more than 20 recipes, I asked everybody and I made many, many batches. My husband got desperate after eating all those cookies and asked me to stop. But I couldn’t, I had to find the perfect recipe. Which I finally found, thank God.
I am so excited today to share this post with you as Nina from the blog Törtchen – Made in Berlin (cupcakes made in Berlin) is sharing a very German recipe with us here. As you can see from my very long blog title, it is close to impossible to translate this treat I ate so often as a child. Literally translated the dish is called “cold dog.” Why this is the case, I haven’t been able to find out other than it is done cold, so with no baking, but what I can assure you is that this is one of my favorite things to eat. I do distinctly remember licking my fingers after getting a piece and being very excited about the high amount of chocolate after each bite. Because, you know, chocolate is always great!
Below banana layer cake was one of the cakes I made for my coffee invite event, which took place on March 3. Can I tell you a little secret? It is soooo good. If you like bananas in a cake, this one is for you. My guests really loved it!
Moin, or hello my dear friends! Today I brought along a special treat from the city I live in: Franzbrötchen! That’s Hamburg’s version of a cinnamon roll. If you follow me on Facebook, you will have seen questions about this treat because I tried several recipes before I was happy. Franzbrötchen is the signature dish from Hamburg. I can guarantee you, wherever you go in Hamburg, you will smell cinnamon as soon as you come close to a bakery. They are sold everywhere and I would say the smell of cinnamon represents Hamburg very much. Franzbrötchen are a mix of croissants and cinnamon rolls. They have lots of cinnamon and brown sugar, which may caramelize a little in the baking process, yum!
I love meringue, that’s why I have lots of recipes with meringue on my blog, even though my blog is not that old yet. Just to name a few: French macaron, meringue nests, rhubarb pie with meringue topping, and meringue on top of berries. For that reason I was very excited when I learned that Lisha from the blog MainBacken (in German) was going to share a meringue recipe for my blog event. In case you don’t know, I am currently hosting a blog event in which I ask you to make something from scratch and to share it with a coffee invite. For further details check here. The event will be over on March 15, 2018, so you still have time.
But let’s give the floor to Lisha:
