I had to have a look at my brownie recipe again. It has been on the blog already for nine years. It was good, but not perfect yet. But now I am happy to say that the little changes to it made it perfect. These are my favorite brownies with a nice shiny crust and ultra soft. The recipe contains butter and chocolate, but no cocoa powder. It is a calorie bomb, which I believe brownies should be. It definitely is a decadent recipe, no short cuts. The shiny crust is created by beating the eggs with sugar. I honestly feel that making brownies doesn’t take that long. Instead of reaching for a box, how about making them yourself? They will taste so much better and you know exactly what is inside.
If you are looking for more brownie recipes, how about brownies with caramel, brownies with sourdough, vegan brownies with raspberries among others. All of these have some additional components, but I wanted to have a look at the basic recipe, without any additions. I wanted to get that right and then work from there. So let’s have a look at the recipe!
My favorite brownie recipe contains butter and chocolate. By beating the eggs with the sugar, we will get the shiny crust. So fudgy and good! You can see in this short video how I make them. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Line a 20cmx20cm brownie form with parchment paper. Melt the butter with the chocolate on low heat either on the stovetop or in the microwave and stir. Beat the eggs with the sugar on high until paler in color and thicker in consistency, this takes a few minutes. Pour in cooled-off chocolate mix and stir. Only add the flour and chocolate chips to combine. Spread in prepared pan. Bake on medium rack for about 35-40 minutes. An inserted toothpick should still show some crumbs, otherwise you baked it for too long. If there is a lot of batter and it feels very gooey, bake for a few more minutes. Let come to room temperature, then chill in the fridge. It will be easier to slice. Use, if possible a large bread knife. Brownie slices freeze beautifully. My Favorite Brownie Recipe
