Maple walnut cookies! Invite fall season with this intense cookie to your home. If you love maple and walnuts, this cookie is for you. Unfortunately, it is not that common in Germany to eat cookies all year round, but now with temperature dropping and days getting shorter, even here in Germany cookies are being baked more often and the oven turned on. So even in Europe we finally have no excuse, turn on your oven and make these maple walnut cookies!

These cookies follow the traditional steps for cookies. First you cream the butter, then you add the sugar, make sure they are mixed well, add egg and maple syrup before you mix in the dry ingredients. There only is one down-side to these cookies: you do need to chill them as otherwise they will spread too much. But once you put the cookies in the oven, oh, this smell, it si sooo divine! It reminds me of the maple tree forests in Canada, just this maple flavor, it is so good.

Ahorn-Walnuss-CookiesIf you manage to keep a few cookies for the next day, you will realize the maple flavor gets more intense. For me as a chocolate lover it’s seldom I will say that a cookie is delish. You know, if it doesn’t contain chocolate chips or chocolate. But these cookies do past the test. Invite the cookie monster to a treat with these maple walnut cookies.

Cream the butter for about two minutes, then add the sugar ad cream further for two minutes. Add the egg, maple syrup and vanilla extract and mix together until thoroughly combined. Then preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Take about 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie, first roll into a ball, then flatten a little. Monica, check the original recipe right above and you can use google to convert. As a little tip, using a kitchen scale will definitely give you more consistent results and you will have less to wash 😉

Can you make this recipe in cups? I already tried looking it up on google but it just gives me articles and I don’t have a kitchen scale please make this recipe in cups. It would make it way more simple for people who only know how to use cups.

Hi Rosie, a kitchen scale costs about the same as a set of cups, it really isn’t expensive and I can only recommend getting one, it is so much more accurate and there is less to wash. Apart from that you can convert the amounts, a lot of sites offer this.

Thank you for using scale measurements. I’ve gotten to the point where I seek out recipes that use scales because the recipe turns out so much better.
