Yes, I made a birthday cake for our dog Hazel. I made it during our holiday in Spain at my parents-in-law. So today you will get a dog cake, not a regular one. It does not contain sugar or flour, but it does have dairy products since Hazel loves all of them and she can digest them easily. I do hope we have many more years to come with our dog Hazel!
Yes, so far Hazel has gotten a cake for each of her birthdays. I made this dog cake for her first anniversary, the one from year 2 I didn’t put on the blog because I didn’t like it that much. But this time for her third birthday, she did devour it again, so here it comes again. But I would like to make a disclaimer, if you have any concerns about the ingredients used for your dog, please check with your vet. Hazel for example can’t have peanut butter she is allergic, so be sure to keep it safe for your dog.
This dog birthday cake contains carrots and banana and can be filled with various dairy products. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Peel and grate the carrot. Smash the banana in a large bowl and add the grated carrot. Stir in the egg. Then add rolled oats and oil and briefly mix everything together. Scoop four cookies onto the sheet, using a spoon, make sure they are all about the same siize and round. Bake for about 12-15min. For the filling you can either use whipped cream (about 150g), cream cheese or yoghurt. I only used whipped cream and piped it onto the cookies, but that is up to you. I am aware that this is not something your dog should eat regularly, but once per year I believe this is OK. Make sure to check with your vet in case of any dietary restrictions.Dog Birthday Cake
