Are you as excited as I am about apricots, peaches, and nectarines? When I was on holiday in Spain, there was such a variety available and usually a Euro per kilo. Obviously I bought and bought and baked and baked. Yes, finally peach season is also happening in Germany even though a kilo costs much more than one Euro. Below you will find 14 recipes, which I all enjoy and have made numerous times. I hope you find something you like.

Peach Tart with Four Ingredients

Tarte tatin mit Aprikosen

Today I am presenting a peach tart with only four ingredients: peaches, flour, sugar, and butter. If you have these ingredients at home, feel free to get started on this beauty. This is an upsidedown cake, so you will need an ovenproof pan. However, the tarts I photographed here were all made in Spain and I didn’t have an ovenproof frying pan. This is also possible, just make the caramel separately. Think caramelized peaches that are held together by some dough and you will get this summery dessert. Serve with a dollop of whipping cream or ice cream and you’ve got summer on your plate.

Summery Peach Pie

Pfirsich-Pie

This summery peach pie is exactly what I need right now. I made the pie crust with buttermilk. Obviously, you can go for the regular pie crust, but I figured, why not try? Pie is something I love in summer, there are so many fruit options in summer. Since we had very ripe and juicy peaches being offered, I decided to go for a peach pie. Who wants a piece or two?

Pavê de pêssego oder Tiramisu mit Pfirsichen auf Brasilianisch

You guys, finally I get to introduce something from Brazil on my blog. Did you know that you can find all Latin American recipes here? Since I was born in Uruguay and my husband is Colombian, you will find a lot of recipes from those countries on this blog. Yes, I also have a caramel custard from Peru called suspiro limeño on this blog and the gluten-free cheese buns from Paraguay called chipa are very popular. However, Brazil somehow hasn’t made it as of yet even though it has such a vast variety to offer and super delicious cuisine. Anyway, be it as it may, today this pavê de pêssego will make the start, this is a layered peach dessert.

Uruguay’s Version of a Peach Layer Cake (postre chajá)

It’s time for a peach layer cake, one from my country of origin Uruguay. This cake was actually invented in my home town Paysandú. Postre chajá is a peach layer cake that is named after a bird called chajá (in English it is called southern screamer, the Spanish tries to imitate the loud screams it produces). Below you see a picture of this bird. Why the cake got this name and why it is extremely delicious, I will explain in this blog entry.

The bird called chajá as is common in Uruguay
