Guys, I looooove fall. I just love this golden light, the rustling of leaves, I just love every aspect of it, including rainy days as these are so perfect for reading a nice book with a thick and snuggly blanket. I always get excited during fall and I snap pictures of everything, I wish fall was three quarters of the year. And for this reason I decided to make a simple and easy apple slab pie for picnics.
Can I interest you in an easy sourdough bread even if you don’t cultivate sourdough and only need to start the night before? If your answer is yes, then this bread is meant for you. If you have been following my blog for a while, you will know that I don’t post many bread recipes on my blog even though I am an avid bread lover. The reason is simple, it is because my beloved husband rules the bread kingdom in this family.

Well, and when I asked you on Instagram whether you would like to have the recipe for this bread, you said yes, so here goes. This is a new recipe and it is a simple sourdough bread.
Yeah, I know, there are so many blueberry muffin recipes out there. I know. But this is my favorite and it is so simple. Please bear with me and make a dozen, or two. Because they are full of this blueberry goodness, and they just make you happy. I promise.
What my go-to recipe for chocolate cake is? Definitely this one. I don’t even know when or where I picked it up. It probably was passed down to me from my mom as we spent several years in the U.S. in the 80’s, German recipes are usually a bit more complicated. It has been very popular among my relatives. I love this recipe because it can be whipped up in about five minutes. Literally.
One thing I know for sure is that I have seen this cake around a lot. At a lot of festivities. I mean, what beats a cake you can whip up so quickly and which is so versatile? I love that it is so moist! Originally it was a sheet cake, often served with nuts and frosted with some chocolate frosting. Sometimes it was made with cherries, my sister also used it as a birthday cake for one of her children and used smarties, M&Ms etc. to make it more festive. This recipe can also be the base for a bundt cake.
I feel it is time for some chocolate. Maybe it’s because I didn’t eat chocolate for three weeks. I wanted to look pretty for my birthday. So I restricted myself to eating relatively healthy, no sweets and no chocolate. That was really hard for me. Three weeks without chocolate? As a chocoholic I am proud to say that I managed. I was allowed to drink one small cup of cocoa per day, but that was about it. I know that a lot of people say they don’t crave chocolate in summer. I am definitely not one of them. I can have chocolate day in and day out. Summer or winter. If there is chocolate, you will find Jenny around.
